I’m so excited to be once again offering the Connection Centered Discipline Nanny Certification. This training was created from the ground up especially for nannies. As a 25 year nanny veteran, I know the unique challenges nannies face when dealing with discipline issues. As a Positive Discipline Parent Educator, communications trainer and certified mediator, I can help you successfully meet those challenges, effectively incorporate the Positive Discipline approach into your daily work and enlist the support of your employers.
Connected Centered Discipline is the class for nannies to better understand their charges and improve their day! Give up the power struggles and temper tantrums. Stop thinking about ways to punish children and start thinking of ways to teach them how to make better decisions. This class was life changing for my career. I have not lost my temper or needed to use time out in more than three years since taking this interactive class. Take your resume and your career to the next level. I can’t recommend Lora Brawley or this class highly enough. ~ Laura Rideout Schroeder
The Connection-Centered Discipline program is built on the concepts of Positive Discipline, an internationally recognized approach that has hundreds of thousands of fans. It’s used in homes, churches, and schools around the world with kids from toddlers to teens. And there are over 30 published Positive Discipline books dedicated to every age group, family situation and unique challenge including children with special needs, Why? Because it works for reasons that we can feel good about. It focuses on connection, cooperation, respect, kindness, and encouragement. But it does so without being permissive or indulgent. It’s the perfect balance between Kumbaya and “It’s my way or the highway!” parenting.
CCDNC is a great training series for anyone looking to make their lives easier… so everyone right?! I am currently half way through the series and after only 4 classes I already see a difference in my kids’ behavior – and mine as well! I had read a Positive Discipline book several months before taking this course, however, I learned so much more having everything broken down and designed specifically for nannies. For me the most helpful part of this training was being able to implement each step week by week – all the while sharing my experiences and having the support of the other nannies in the class. I’ve been recommending this course to every nanny I know! ~Mallory Lynch

Both me and my employers were having lots of issues with the 3 and 5 year old boys. They were taking Lora’s parenting class and suggested I take this one so we were all on the same page. And they offered to pay for it. How can you say no to that? I was pretty skeptical about the whole idea. I was already positive with my nanny kids and it wasn’t working. Well by the 2nd week I actually saw real changes in my behavior and the kids’ behavior. Turns out being positive isn’t what positive discipline is all about. She explained things in a way that I could really understand and she helped me figure out how to use the tools we were learning. And when things went off the tracks as they do with kids, she helped me figure out how to go back and tweak what I was doing. Because of this class, I’ve changed so much as a nanny. I now know I can handle whatever kids throw my way and do it in a way that I feel good about. I was lucky that my employers paid for this class but looking at all I gained, I would have paid for it myself without a doubt. ~ Debbie Fisher
